According to a report from , the Dutch midfielder, who held the affection of PSG for the last couple of summers, is no longer a target for them as they look to replace Kylian Mbappe, who will be leaving the club for Real Madrid. With Napoli's Victor Osimhen being their prime target for this summer, they will be unable to splash the cash on De Jong and have pulled out altogether.

According to the report, just like Barcelona, PSG are also immersed in a battle to clean up their messy accounts as they fear a potential for a Financial Fair Play investigation in the summer. If they attempt to sign De Jong and a replacement for Mbappe in the same summer, they could potentially ruin their chances of cleaning up their economic situation.
